About Us

Our Story

Matsumanju was formed as a place to share handcrafted patches with fellow patch collectors, anime, and game lovers. This company is run by matsu, the small but mighty human manju (Japanese steamed cake), and her three helpful(?) cat assistants: Chia, Milo, and Archer. Matsu has always worked with her hands, and loved the arts; Drawing, and painting traditionally and digitally. Occasionally, matsu watches out for stray cats by providing them with jobs; saving them from any financial crisis. This was the origin story for all three of her cat assistants.

Watching anime, reading manga, and playing video games with the cats are also part of their everyday life. One day, matsu discovered iron-on patches and was captivated by the charm of embroidery threads and began collecting them. Matsu tried to look for anime-related patches but noticed the lack of options out there. Thus, matsu went on to acquire an embroidery machine to design and create her own embroidered patches.
